Studying spatial dynamics of different geographical phenomena using simulations (Cellular Automata) and remote sensing data sources (historical air-photographs, satellite images). Assessed and modelled statistically the expansion of built-up areas including infrastructure networks following population growth. Served as the scientific leader of the team which developed the National long term plan for the fire fighting brigade, following the Carmel forest fire disaster
