Victoria Gitelman, M.Sc., Ph.D., is a senior research fellow at the Transportation Research Institute, Technion, Israel; in the past decade, she served as a head of the road safety research group.
Dr. Gitelman is engaged in evaluation research in road safety and traffic engineering for over 25 years. She has led a wide spectrum of national road safety evaluation studies on road infrastructure, road user behaviours, accident analysis and modelling, safety of vulnerable road users, safety management and benchmarking, public transport safety and micromobility, and was involved in several research projects in Europe, e.g. ROSEBUD, SafetyNet, DaCoTa, Moby, Bike-Longer.
Dr. Gitelman published over 90 journal and conference papers and wrote more than 120 research reports. For the last decades, she also serves as a scientific consultant of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the approval of road traffic and safety devices in Israel, where she leads the field of road restraint systems.
